Maiasaura was a duck-billed dinosaur, so called because its broad mouth looks like a duck’s ‘bill’ or beak.

The name Maiasaura means ‘good mother lizard’. When a specimen was found, eggs and newly hatched young too small and weak to feed themselves were found with it. So the mother Maiasaura must have brought plants to feed her offspring.
