Megistaspis was among the largest trilobites in the Ordovician. Their large, triangular tail shields are often found as fossils. Megistaspis may be assumed to have been a predator, and its flattish body shape indicates that it may have lurked on the sea bed, partly buried in the bottom sediment, awaiting its prey.
