Did you know that plesiosaurs also existed in Sweden?
Remains of plesiosaurs, including teeth and vertebrae, have been discovered in the Skåne region, in bedrock dating from the Cretaceous. You can see the fossils in a display case beside you. Most of the fossils were discovered in the area around Lake Ivösjön in northeast Skåne.
Thalassomedon had the longest neck of all
plesiosaurs – it contained 62 vertebrate!
