Endoceras was a common cephalopod in what is now Sweden during the Ordovician period, and one of the largest predators.

On its underside was the siphuncle, a thick, heavy tube connecting all the chambers of the shell. This made the shell well balanced and gave Endoceras buoyancy, enabling it to swim horizontally as it hunted its prey.
